Civitanova Marche is a town in the province of Macerata. The city is divided into Civitanova Alta, which stands on a hill overlooking the Chienti Valley, and Civitanova Bassa which includes the port and the coast on the Adriatic Sea.
Civitanova Marche Alta is an ancient medieval village surrounded by castle walls with four access gates built by the Sforza in the 15th century. The Porta Marina is the most particular and recognizable, as a cypress appears inside the crenellated belt.
In the heart of Civitanova Alta are the Annibal Caro Theater, the Moretti Municipal Art Gallery, the former Church of Sant’Agostino, the Art Nouveau Tram Station, the Museum of Popular Arts and Traditions and the Historical Museum of Trotting.
Civitanova Bassa is characterized by many clubs, shops and the atmosphere is more modern and trendy with a long beach of 8 km opens in front of us in all its beauty and walking by the sea among the palm trees and the rustle of the waves is the perfect end to this beautiful day in Civitanova Marche!
